Climbing to the top of Mount Batur usually starts from Toya Bungkah village or other villages in the surrounding area. The climb usually starts in the evening so that climbers can reach the peak before sunrise, so they can witness the spectacular sunrise over the crater lake located in the middle of Mount Batur.
