Telaga Waja River Rafting Bali Visiting

Telaga Waja River

Telaga Waja River is a river located in the east of Bali, precisely in Rendang District, Karangasem Regency. The river springs from the slopes of Mount Abang and Mount Agung, the two highest mountains in Bali that are also sacred to Hindus. The river’s water comes from several clear mountain springs such as Lipang, Arca, and Telaga Waja itself, as well as flow support from smaller rivers such as Yeh Sah. The water discharge is so large that some of it is managed as a drinking water source by the local government.

The swift and clear water flow throughout the year makes it ideal for rafting activities, with current difficulty levels varying from Level II to IV, suitable for beginners to the experienced. The rafting routes here are also among the longest in Bali, at around 16-18 km, with a duration of around 2.5 to 3 hours. The scenery along the river is breathtaking, encompassing dense tropical forests, dramatic rock cliffs, green rice fields and waterfalls. There is also a drop dam about 4 metres high which is a fun challenge for visitors.

Sidemen

Sidemen is famous for its beautiful natural scenery and cool, peaceful atmosphere. Located in a mountainous area on the slopes of Mount Agung, Sidemen offers a panoramic view of green hills, vast terraced rice fields, natural rivers, and fresh air. Because of these natural characteristics, Sidemen is often the destination of travellers who want to enjoy the beautiful and quiet atmosphere of rural Bali, away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

Sidemen is famous for its natural attractions in the form of trekking tracks, majestic views of Mount Agung, vast green rice fields, and several tourist spots such as Bukit Asmara, Petemon Sanggem Temple, and Sidemen Swing (an adrenaline-challenging swing tour). There are also attractions such as the iconic bridge, clean river and civet coffee agro-tourism.

Sidemen also has a strong Balinese cultural heritage, one of which is the art of ikat endek, songket and silver weaving which is the village’s signature craft product. The villagers mostly work as farmers and weavers.
