The Bendesa who led this village strongly opposed Dang Hyang Nirartha to spread Hinduism in this place.
He used various methods to repel and disturb the Brahmin’s meditation. To avoid disturbance from the Beraban Sakti village, Dang Hyang Dwijendra moved the rock he was sitting on to the middle of the sea with his spiritual power. The name Tanah Lot itself comes from here, which is a rock or land in the middle of the sea. Since Dang Hyang Dwijendra moved his meditation spot to the middle of the sea, the Beraban Sakti bendesa recognized the brahmin’s power and stopped bothering him.
